We’ve got some exciting news! Surface Level Records will be performing this coming Monday, Nov 14th, at Trace Brewing in the Bloomfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh. As part of the Lights Out multi-genre quarterly, Proseed & DFRNTFRM will be sharing the stage with DJ Blacklisted holding down the 1s and 2s. The band Different Places in Space, as well as Wil Kondrich & Marc Reisman, will also be performing.

The show runs from 6-10 PM EST. All ages, free to enter, and a food truck will be parked outside so get some grub! Those 21 and over are guaranteed to enjoy some great brews. I’ve tried 4-5 different styles from the brewery, so I can attest to the quality 🙂

This will likely be the only show from the crew until next spring, so don’t miss it!

This past weekend we debuted our hip-hop album review discussions on Discord. Our topic was 1998’s Third Eye Vision by the Hieroglyphics. Proseed, DFRNTFRM & DJ Blacklisted talked about the best moments and overall significance of the classic indie hip-hop gem.

Check out the discussion below:

Future discussions will be hosted on Discord and live streamed on Youtube. Have you joined our Discord server and subscribed to SLR on Youtube? Please do, and we look forward to hearing from you on our community channel.

Proseed “That’s the Truth” (ft. Real Deal & Reasun) Lyrics Video

One of the tracks getting the most attention from Proseed’s Songs and Seven Blunders album (May 2022) is “That’s the Truth,” featuring international battle rap champion, Real Deal, and Reasun, host of Pittsburgh’s freestyle cypher, Track Meet. In response, Proseed has created a lyrics video which will air on the Surface Level Records YouTube page at 7 PM EST. Check it out when it releases below:

Until then, you can stream, download and support the song at the Surface Level Records label page via Bandcamp. You can also stream the the whole album, Songs and Seven Blunders, wherever you prefer.
